The Sassy Fashionista

This is me!

A little about me. I am an Artist. Graphic Designer. Stylist. Fashionista. Wife. Mother. Coffee drinker. People watcher.

In past five years I have learned to embrace my grey hair, my larger hips and my fuller belly.

Aging gracefully is about embracing the beauty not the flaws. I can still do downward dog and a plank. My body has had its issues that comes with age, but I have continued to help it with what it needs along the way.

Yes, I have cursed it many times and have mourned the way it used to be. This is what aging is, the changes will continue, what you do in response is what’s important.

At 58 I am the happiest I have ever been, but It saddens me that I spent so much of my life worrying about my looks and meeting society’s expectations. So it’s my mission to share my joy and to inspire you to be happy and accept where you are today.

With our digital, social, world there can be a lot of pressure to look a certain way or follow a trend that doesn’t line up with who you are or serve you and your insecurities about your body. This makes getting dressed no fun at all. Be authentic in your style. Your outfits can reflect your values. Wear what makes you happy and with intention.

The way we dress causes an impact, not only on those around us but our confidence as well. I often dress for the mood I want to feel that day. I don’t have just one aesthetic, I wear what makes me happy. Sometimes you’ll see me in a rocker chic look and other times in a pretty feminine dress. This is one of the joys of getting dressed, it can be whatever YOU want. Classic, graphic black and white or color clash, loud and proud. Unapologetically dress for yourself.

Many say I have a lot of confidence, truth is, I am an introverted extrovert. I get my confidence by showing up each day and owning my larger body, my wrinkles and all my flaws. Confidence is a muscle we can all flex and grow. Show me your flex!

Ask yourself who am I.

What are your characteristics? What matters to you? Dress to those values. Dress like no one is watching. Don’t be concerned about what others think. “There are better pursuits than being liked... like BEING” Alok Vaid-Menon

I am here to show you that you deserve to be joyful and happy. You can find me on all the social channels by searching my name or the links in my profile. I aim to inspire before I expire.

Till next time, be kind to yourself and shine bright ❤️
